Make a difference!

March 31, 2015 – OCS is hiring Software Engineers.

OCS is a small company with a long history. If you are looking for a job where you will work with a team of other bright people and make that difference, check us out.

The job will be in support of software performance engineering, which involves watching over a large Unix system under development and doing the proper engineering to make sure that the system performs well as it goes live. You will work as part of a team with other OCS engineers to achieve this goal and work with a wide range of modern technologies to make it happen. You will work in an environment where solid engineering is valued over politics and your peers are smart, well motivated people.

OCS launches Open Source Virtualization Center of Competence

January 24, 2014 – Having recently completed a long term project to modernize its software development and test infrastructure, OC Systems is expanding its consultancy offerings to allow our customers to benefit from the technologies, techniques and skills developed in the course of this effort.

Here are some examples of the challenges OCS is now positioned to provide support for.

Virtualization Platform Migration

Vendor lock-in with proprietary virtualization platforms can present a high barrier to lower-TCO open source solutions. Open source platforms offer several options for simplifying migration and OCS can help steer your organization toward the right-fit solution for your needs, and support you by customizing automated migration techniques.

Provisioning and Capacity Planning

Virtualization holds out the promise of allowing you to "over-commit" your hardware resources for maximal utilization, but can cause severe performance degradation if mishandled. OC Systems' experience with performance tuning and resource utilization analysis can be applied in this domain to enable you to get the most out of your hardware without sacrificing performance.

Your Own Piece of the Cloud

"Cloud Computing" is a term lately over-used and poorly understood. Can your enterprise benefit from "True" Cloud features such as dynamic scaling in response to changes in load? OC Systems can help right-size your capabilities as well as your resources.

OCS August Open House Cancelled

August 13, 2013 – OCS is cancelling our Open House that was scheduled for Thursday, August 15 at Mark Center Clydes. It was intended to be a celebration of our 30th year in business (yes, 30 years!) and to get to know our customers and friends, but recently there has been a contractual protest and it is frowned upon to do any kind of outreach during that period even if it is not specifically related to the protest. Sigh. The actual 30th anniversary of OCS is October 13th. We will reschedule once things cool down. Stay tuned. It'll be fun.

OCS is hosting an Open House

August 7, 2013 – OC Systems is hosting an Open House at the Clyde’s in Alexandria, VA (Mark Center) on Thursday August 15th 4:00-7:00. Drinks and light appetizers will be served. This year OCS celebrates 30 years of software engineering success! If your situation lately seems lacking in that kind of staying power, consider giving us a call. OCS is specifically looking for qualified candidates to help support the CBP CSPO O&M program, but all are welcome. For more information or to see a list of the open positions please go to www.ocsystems.com/jobs C'mon and share a pint and meet the various OCSers!
